The Pinto division is for 7 and 8-year-olds, born between May 1, 2008 and April 30, 2010. Pinto baseball provides a fun, instructional baseball experience for players and their families. Field size and rules are appropriate to players this age. Emphasis is on teaching the fundamentals of the game. The coaches do the pitching to ensure that the games are fun. A soft-core ball is used. We encourage participation by all players: The batting order consists of all the team's players. All players play defense, and rotate positions to ensure everyone has a chance to play everywhere.

Seattle Pony Baseball has adopted an And-Under rule for determining age eligibility. For the Pinto Division, this rule means that if a player was born between May 1, 2010 and April 30, 2011 (i.e., the player is a “league-age” 6 year old), the player’s parents may choose to allow their child to “play up” into the Pinto Division. Before making the decision to have a child “play up,” Seattle Pony Baseball strongly urges parents to consider whether their 6 year old has the maturity level and requisite skills to play the game of baseball with significantly older players. Should you choose to register your child for Pinto under this rule, you can continue here with Pinto registration.

For the 2017 season, Pinto teams should be formed by March 25, with practices beginning March 25 or after, and games beginning April 8. Please be sure to attend PONY Palooza, date TBA, before the season. This fun, pre-season event provides a great introduction and start to the new season. The Pinto season will conclude in early June and all Pinto players are encouraged to celebrate their season at Seattle PONY's end-of-season barbeque on June 17.
