Coaches' Code of Conduct
Coaches who participate in the Seattle Pony Baseball League are required to abide by the following Coaches Code of Conduct:
I will remember that I am a youth sports coach, and that the game is for the kids and not the adults.
I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my players ahead of a personal desire to win.
I will treat each player as an individual, remembering that there is a large range of emotional and physical development for the same age group.
I will do my best to provide a safe playing situation for my players.
I will promise to review and practice basic first aid principles and comply with the League first aid team requirements.
I will do my best to organize practices that are fun and challenging for all of my players.
I will lead by example in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship to all my players.
I will treat all coaches, umpires, players, parents, fans and league officials with respect.
I will provide a sports environment for my team that is free of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, and I will refrain from their use at all youth sports events.
I will be knowledgeable of the League rules for playing the game and will do my best to teach them to my teams.
I understand that I will be held responsible for the behavior of my players, parents and other fans.
I will conduct myself at all times in compliance with the League rules and policies and will act in a manner that reflects positively on the League.
I, the undersigned, have read, understand and agree to abide by the above guidelines. I agree to accept actions taken by the SPB Board of Directors for failure to abide by these guidelines.
